Government Surplus Property Auctions and Land Sales -- All free information

While the Homestead Act is no longer in effect, you can still buy (and
sometimes trade for) land from the federal government. Both the BLM and GSA
agencies get involved with selling off surplus properties, from time to
time. There may be a very nice piece of land right where you want to live.

The GSA usually auctions off developed properties, including old military
offices and bases. BLM manages the forests and other public lands, and
almost always sells raw, undeveloped land.

You can find out more by visiting

and clicking on the "Buying Land from the U.S. Government" link.

There's no cost for the information. If you've been wanting to find a good
deal, this just may be the day you find it.
